Elizabeth Wheaton: Birth: ABT 1730.
Note: ely born about 1700, and possibly not in Huntingdonshire or Cambridgeshire. He was a shepherd. His married first the 13th May 1726 in Hilton, Huntingdonshire, Ann Sparrow who came from a family who were very prominent in Hilton. The marriage licence gives his name as "Wheaton" but the marriage register of St. Mary Magdalene reads "Wheatley". One month before the marriage took place, on the 10th April 1726, Thomas and Ann Wheatley had baptized a daughter, Anne, in the same church. In 1729 Richard Sparrow died and left property to his granddaughter, naming her in his Will as "Ann Wheaton, wife of Thomas Wheaton". In 1730 and 1732, the entries for the baptism of their daughter Elizabeth (26th March 1730), for the burial of a son William (17th August 1732) and the baptism of another William (3rd December 1732) all show the name as "Wheatley".
Ann (Sparrow) "Wheatley" was buried in Hilton on the 27th October 1734, aged about 28 years. Thomas was left for the next twelve years to bring up his three children aged 8, 4 and 2 years at the time of their mother's death. Thomas "Wheaton" married second, on the 28th April 1746, Elizabeth Harop. Both died in September 1754. Thomas and Elizabeth "Wheatley" were buried on the 3rd and 5th September, respectively, according to St. Mary Magdalene's burial register in Hilton.
Thomas's will was dated 3 April 1754 and was executed in 1754. His name in the will was written as "Wheaton". He left one guinea to his daughter Anne Brace, five pounds to his daughter Elizabeth Wheaton, fifteen shillings a year to his wife Elizabeth Wheaton and the rest of his goods chattels and personal estate to his son, William Wheaton.
