Note: Supporter of General Juan Pablo Duarte, general/military commander during the war of independence in 1844. Cabinetmaker. Executed by Spanish authorities in 1863 for rebelling against Spain during the second war of independence. Military Service:

Father was a member of the Espaillat family of Santiago (descended from Francois Espaillat y Virol of France). Mother was most likely an Espaillat family slave of African descent. Had two brothers - Genaro Perpignan (general, signer of the Act of Independence on 14 September 1863, and Minister of Interior in the government of Pres. J.A. Salcedo) and Silverio Del Monte. Originally burried in Santiago. Transferred to the National Pantheon in Santo Domingo in April 1988 along with the other heroes of April 1863.
