Notes
a. Note:   A SUMMARY OF MY RESEARCH ON MARY DRENNAN, who married WILLIAM JAMES WELLWOOD.
  In 2003, I first found reference to William James WELLWOOD and his wife Mary DRENNAN in the death record for Sarah Ann (WELLWOOD) LLOYD. The death certificate states that Sarah Ann Wellwood was born in Newborough, Ontario. Her death certificate is witnessed by her son William James Lloyd. This was the only info I have regarding this family at that time.
  Throughout the following years, I searched for information on William James and his wife, but found no significant information.
  Finally, on June 30th, 2009, I was able to confirm that this William James WELLWOOD and Mary DRENNAN were the parents of three children: James Moncrieff, Sarah Ann and William WELLWOOD. The father, William James WELLWOOD was killed in 1852 "when a sleigh tipped over with a load of wood on Hamiliton mountain". This information came from a very helpful article published in 1972 in the Brandon Sun which focused primarily on the family of James WELLWOOD. The article is presented in full within the Notes for James Moncrieff WELLWOOD, elsewhere in this family tree database.
  The 1972 article in the Brandon Sun refers to the father and mother of James Moncrieff WELLWOOD as follows:
  "[His] father was killed when a sleigh tipped over with a load of wood on Hamilton mountain when [James Moncrieff Wellwood] was a small boy. There were three children, James, Sarah and William. William went to the States, Sarah lived in Brandon for many years -- Mrs. Simon Lloyd [THIS IS MY PATERNAL GRANDMOTHER. swa]. Their mother [Mary (Drennan) WELLWOOD] remarried a Mr. Birmingham, and had three more children, Robert, Lizzie and Jane. Jane died when she was fairly young and Robert homesteaded near Brandon; the family still lives there." { The article is quoting from a letter written by Winnifred A. (Yuill) Whitley of Melita, who was a granddaughter of James Moncrieff WELLWOOD..}
  I am hoping that this information will assist me to locate additional information on Mary DRENNAN, her parents, siblings and extended family.

  IMPLICATIONS OF THIS FINDING:
  I believe this shows that Mary Ann BIRMINGHAM (nee DRENNAN/WELLWOOD) was living in or near Brandon at the same time as her daughter, Sarah Ann WELLWOOD who was married to Simon Ferguson LLOYD. Further, Mary probably spent time with one of the daugthers of Sarah Ann and Simons Ferguson LLOYD ... namely, Sarah Charlotte LLOYD, who later married William Perry AYLESWORTH. This Sarah Charlottle LLOYD would have been a granddaughter to Mary AND Sarah Charlotte AYLESWORTH (nee LLOYD) was my paternal grandmother. In other words, three generations of my ancestral DRENNAN/WELLWOOD/LLOYD family lived near to one another in Brandon, Manitoba Canada!! My father, Robert Wesley AYLESWORTH, was born in Brandon in 1915. His great-grandmother Mary died in 1892, before my father was born in 1915. Then my dad's mother, Sarah Charlotte AYLESWORTH (nee LLOYD) died when my dad was only six. Dad lived for three years with his maternal grandparents, following the death of his mother, but then he was sent to Calgary to live with/near to his father. Thus, Dad knew very little about the history of his own family, and espcially little about his mother's ancestry.
