Uncle McKinley ----- I saw him more than my other Uncles as we lived near them when I was small. I remember he was sick once and an ambulance came to bring him home from the hospital. I had only seen an ambulance used to haul dead people so I thought he was dead. We called him "Shine" probably because he went to bed well before the sun went down, and got up before sun-up. I don't know if he ever made moonshine. I was at his house pretty often since he had three boys. Elred and I were very close and spent a lot of time together. In later years I saw more of Paul. He was killed in a car accident. I worked with Rufus for over thirty years. I was fortunate to be in Alabama in 1981. On the Saturday before he died I went to visit him and we drove around most of the day seeing other people and just visiting each other. He was in good spirits all day. It was quite a shock to hear that later that week he died suddenly. I still miss him. Dan Wood ____________
