  Selma came to America when she was 6 months old, in late 1891. Her birthdate in April, 1891 in the 1900 U.S. Census, and March, 1891 on her death certificate. Her daughter, Ruth, remembered Selma saying her birthplace was "Geisin". It was probably Kherson.
