Her birthdate in April, 1891 in the 1900 U.S. Census, and March, 1891 on her death certificate. Her daughter, Ruth, remembered Selma saying her birthplace was "Geisin". It was probably Kherson. 1913-1914 Duluth City Directory: SELMA ORECKOVSKY, boards 11 E 3rd [with her parents] She was Duluth Woman of the Year in 1970.
