He is assumed to be the one by this name from Brunswick Co. who enlisted in the Confederate Army in Greensville Co.,VA as a conscript. He was in 2nd Ci. I, 12th Va Reg and was wounded and taken prisoner at Crampton's Gap Sep 14, 1862. After his exchange and return to his regiment, he was again captured near Petersburg Oct. 27, 1864 and taken to Lookout, MD. He returned to his farm after his release June 30, 1865.
