Note: About 1925 David and Jenette Vance moved from Sharp County, Ark. to Jackson County, Ark.] David was a share cropper during the depression and post depression years, farming in and around the Tuckerman and grubbs area in Jackson County. Their children grew to maturity and left home to find 'greener pastures." Edith and Mary left and moved to California: Mable and Obie went to Michigan. Jim B. took his family to Montana to work in the copper mines. Gladys married while still on Arkansas, but moved to California shortly after her marriage. Agnes was the only child to remain in Arkansas. She and her husband Frank Dugger, lived in the Newark, cord, Charlotte areas Of Independence County their entire married lives. In the early 1940's, David and Jenette were persuaded to leave Arkansas, and moved to Los Angeles, California. David worked at a large farmer's market until suffering a stoke and dying in 1944. Obie came to California for his father's funeral and remained, divorcing hiis first wife Willie, shortly after leaving Michigan. Mable returned to Michigan, and convinced her husand to move to move to California. They moved in 1944, but only stayed two years, before moving to Newport, Arkansas. Mable went ot work at a shoe factory and Fred worked in the grocery business for his remaining years. At one point he owned his own grocery store, but it burned. The store was rebuilt and sold. Jim B. moved to L.A. after WWII, stayed for awhile and then moved hiis family to Arizona.
