Note: "Both Allen and Elizabeth came from North Carolina (county unknown) and settled, at some point, in what is now Crockett County, Tennessee, somewhere near the communities of Elizabeth and Friendship. They may have come to some other county in Tennessee before settling there, but the 1840 census for what was then Haywood county shows Allen there with his wife, 2 sons and 1 daughter. The 1850 census for what was then Haywood county also Allen & Elizabeth still there with son P.D.(Peter Daucey) White and his new wife, Malinda Jane (the census records that they were married within the year). I have found land deeds back to 1837 which show Allen buying and selling property in what was then Haywood County. The 1860 census for what was then Haywood county shows Allen, then age 72 and a widower, living with the Rhodes family, who I think is his daughter Eleanor and her family." -- Sam Thompson
