THE PARR FAMILY This family, as others of the Haley connection, came from England, where Catherine Parr of Aragon, we remember, was one of the unfortunate wives of Henry the VIII. We have not traced any relationship here, however, other than to establish the family as of English origin. Worth Ray, whom we count on much for ancestry research, mentions John Parr of the Revolution as being in New Jersey, as were the intermingling families, Cloud and Haley. Then Robert Parr was found recorded in Holy Trinity Church, Wilmington, DE, and in Orange County, VA, where Edward Haley had settled and found that Elizabeth Parr of Orange County married a Jack Haley, thought error, should be James Haley. Then, according to the History of Roan County, TN, by Emma M. Wells, the Parr family was in this part of the country with the Cloud and Haley families." "Haley-Jones" by Lucy Cline
