Notes
a. Note:   Charlotte was born near Paris. Almost as little is known of her childhood as Gerald's. She did have a sister Louise who was either a nun or a nurse, or both. One of the phrases floating around in our family today, is Geez, Peas, and Aunt Louise. Charlotte;s mother was quite involved in high social circles and her father was a military man. There was supposedly a younger brother who died in a military accident. Charlotte met Gerald in France, in W W1. They married, returned to the U.S. and had three children. She was a passive person and a home body, never really branching out beyond her husband and children. Thus, her French accent remained strong until the day she died, even though she lived over sixty years in the U.S. She was a beautiful gentle woman, highly devoted to and dependent on, Gerald. She loved the ocean and birds. Though she didn't communicate much, her heart was strong for her family. She died of old age, several months after her husband.
