a. Note:   Jean Nicholson, age 63, rode horseback for the 20 day, 600 mile tripto Ray County.
  He was a Blackhawk war veteran and a Lieutenant in the Morman War. Hereceived bounty land warrants for 40 and for 120 acres on account ofhis services in Capt. Anthony McCuistion's company, Missouri Militia,in the Black Hawk War. The land was located at Plattsburg, Missouri.
  James had land valued at 1000.
  After the Civil War, the family found northern Missouri to be anunfriendly place and moved to a small farm in Barton County, Missouri.
  The farm in Barton County, Missouri proved to be to small for thelarge family; so james and Isabel, with four of their sons moved toNavarro County, Texas.
Note:   James migrated from Tennessee to Missouri, 1829-1830. His mother
