Although Nellie Smith McCuistion states he may have been possibly bornin South Carolina; the family did not immigrate to America until 1735,therefore, Thomas would have been born in Ireland.
Thomas served with a company from North Carolina as a private. He wasreported to be baggage master in the army commanded by GeneralNathaniel Greene.
Thomas held land in North Carolina. From Guilford County, NorthCarolina Court Records: Thursday, 18 October 1759, lease and releasefrom Thomas and Ann McCuiston 640 acres to Robert McCuistion (brotherof Thomas), dated Apr 1-2, 1758. Proved by Thomas Donnel, Esqr.
