His grandson, Max Green, finds it hard to find many nice things about his Grandfather as he didn't really like the man. He was pretentious, liked his own way and always had to be the centre of attention. He was a man with a vision because he started a distilled water company and worked with his family to make a success of this business.
One of his daughter's stayed at home to help their mother take care of the house. Whilst the other girls went out to work. The boys worked with their father in the company that occupied his time towards the end of his life. Prior to this he was a proprietor of a Baby Wear shop, a Piano Salesman and had many other occupations.
After the death of his first wife, Algernon married his carer. There is speculation within the family as to the cause of his death.
