Shore, 41, wife of Harold Shore, living southeast of the city on the Kirklin brick road, died at the Clinton County hospital about 3:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon of complications arising after an appendicitis operation. She was born in Cincinnati, O., April 1, 1895, the daughter of William and Mary Rutenschroer and was married to Harold Shore on February 13, 1915. She was a member of the Salem Mud Creek Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Eileen Vandervender of Cyclone, two sons, Curtis and H. William, at home, two half-sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Crawford and Mrs. Emma Nolte, both of south of Kirklin, and one half-brother, John Bruckner, of Cincinnati, O. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Salem Mud Creek Presbyterian church; Rev. Charles McClung will officiate. Burial will be in Salem cemetery.
Note: Their marriage license indicates that Harold is the son of Curtis M. and Lucy (Ellis) Shore; that he was born 20 September 1892 in Lebanon, IN and that it's his first marriage. The license reads Abbie A. Rutenschroer that she was born 1 April 1895 in Cincinnati, OH, the daughter of William Rutenschroer, born in OH but now residing in Lebanon, IN, and Mary Binder, born in Ohio but now deceased. The license indicates that it's Abbie's first marriage as well. The couple was married by Kirk Waldo Robbins, Pastor of the Methodist Episcopal Church.
