Brown, 91, Arkansas City, died Thursday, Aug. 5, 2004,at the Presbyterian Health Care Center. Graveside services willbe at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, 2004, in the Riverview Cemetery.Born July 30, 1913, at Duneweg, Mo., she was the daughter ofWilliam H. and Dona (Patton) Hamon. She was reared in PayneCounty, Okla., and attended school in Oilton, Okla. On Nov. 5,1951, she married Howard W. Brown in Bentonville, Ark. They madetheir home in Arkansas City. Howard preceded her in death onApril 26, 2001. Althea was a member of the Central ChristianChurch and was active in different groups of the church. Shealso belonged to the VFW Auxiliary and the American LegionAuxiliary. Survivors include her daughter, Sally Miller ofArkansas City; one son, Ronnie Fisher of Claremore, Okla.; onesister, Loveta I. Fisher of Stillwater, Okla., sixgrandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and fourgreat-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by herparents; her husband, Howard, five sisters, Edith Wallace,Louise Anderson, Mary Hamon, Grace Hamon and Pearl Hamon; andtwo brothers, Joseph Hamon and an infant brother. Memorialshave been established for Central Christian Church orPresbyterian Manor. Contributions may be made through thefuneral home.
