Note: rly of the Richmond, Mo., area died Feb. 27, 2009, at Heartland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph. Frieda was born on April 11, 1916, in Richmond to George Thomas and Leota Belle (Denton) Rimmer. She married Bryant Elwood McGinnis, of Richmond, on May 5, 1934. He preceded her in death on Feb. 23, 1976. Frieda was a member of the Brookdale Presbyterian Church, St. Joseph. She was an avid bridge player. She worked alongside Dr. Graham Revere in Richmond for 20 years delivering babies in the home, sometimes working the barter system. Her family moved to St. Joseph in 1956. She fulfilled a lifetime dream of becoming a L.P.N. in 1966, working for Dr. Rost and Dr. Moreshead. In addition to her parents and husband Frieda was preceded in death by one son, Larry Kent McGinnis, who died in infancy; two brothers, Arvle and "Hub" Rimmer, four sisters, Cleo Renfro, Thelma Harbaugh, DeEsta Wahlbrink, Dorothy Perry; one granddaughter, Cherie Ganaway Morris. Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Terry Neill and Margaret Carroll McGinnis, Kansas City, Mo.; one daughter and son-in-law, Melinda S. and The Rev. Robert Ganaway, San Antonio, Texas; one brother and one sister-in-law, Paul Ashley and Virginia Rimmer; three grandchildren and their spouses, Erin and Jerry Dunivan, Mark and Angi Ganaway, Carolyn and Bobby Dowling; six great-grandchildren, Bradley, Cooper, and Allyson Dunivan, Rynae and Drew Morris, Natalie Ganaway; two step-grand children their spouses, Debby and Jaime Martin, Susie and Jon Wilson; special friends Rick and Pam Hope and family. The family would like to thank the management and staff of Carriage Square for the loving and kind care that was given to their loved one for the past four years, especially Jeremy, Kayla and Sarah.
