Note: MARY PRICE (Evans) "Mary Price was born (in Wales) in the year 1788 April 27 in the night 12 a clock," so the Father's (Thomas D. Price) record reads. She came to America with her husband and two children. In England she married John B. Evans (date and place unknown), for a time a merchant and clothing dealer whose saturnalia appetite some times seriously interfered with success in his work. So we learn in many letters written at Pittsburgh (1837-1865). Their children were Elizabeth, Mary Ann, and John. October 10, 1837 they lived at 52 Market St., Pittsburgh. In a letter from J.B. Evans dated May 5th, 1849 he was in Cincinnati keeping store. They lived from a time on a farm outside Pittsburgh. Father's diary mentions Mary as visiting her brother Edward on the Welsh Hills, December 18, 1848. She died the last of June 1849 in Cincinnati, by Father's diary (July 1, 1849) in an epidemic of cholera. Where she was buried, we have not been able to ferret out. John B. again married the next year (1850) and he, if the identity is correct, his wife and Henry L. Evans were dismissed by letter from the Ninth St. Baptist Church of Cincinnati, February 12, 1861, to join any church of same faith and doctrine.
