  GAINED GASNIER If Gagn� amount today per thousands everywhere in Quebec, it is thanks to the brothers Louis and Pierre Gasnier (Gained). Like so much of others, the ancestors Pierre and Louis Gagn� are of origin percheronne, born from the marriage of Louis Gagnier and Marie Launay, in St-Martin, of Ig�, with the Pole, department current of the Flowering ash. The elder one, Pierre Gagn� is baptized on January 2 1610, and Louis, September 13 1612. Pierre Gagn� learns the trade from baker, while his brother is made ploughman. At the 26 years age, towards 1638, Louis Gained wife Marie Michel, born into 1620, girl of Pierre Michel and Louise Gory, originating in St-Martin of the Old man-B�ll�me, in Mortagne, with the Pole. The couple arrives to News-France into 1643 or 1644. Last nine children are born with the couple, including four, have a descent which concerns us, in this genealogy. The first, Louise Gasnier, come in the world in Ig�, baptized on January 21 1642. May 25 1654, Louise marries at the paternal house of Bowsprit, the ancestor Claude Bouchard, tailor of clothes. Five children of twelve have descent in this genealogy. The second, sixth of the family, Louis Gasnier, born on July 7 1651, baptized the 18, in Quebec, marry on February 9 1678, Marie Gagnon, born on August 1 1659, baptized on September 8, girl of the ancestors Jean Gagnon and Marguerite Cauchon. Their daughter in the following generation, Marie Gained, born on November 22 1678, becomes the wife in 1702, of Jean Poulin, born on August 24 1671, son of the ancestor Jean Poulin and Louise Par�. The third, Anne Gagn�, baptized on October 27 1653, in Quebec, marries on September 11 1670, in Beaupr�, the ancestor Fran�ois Lacroix, born towards 1642, originating in Rouen, in Normandy. A girl on the eleven children has descent in this genealogy. The fourth, eighth child of the Gagn�/Michel couple, Ignace Gained, born on March 12 1656, he is baptized three days later, in Quebec. Ignace marries on November 5 1680, in Quebec, Barbe Dodier, born towards 1664, girl of the ancestor Jacques Dodier and Catherine Charon. Their three children have descent who concern us in this genealogy. Their Louise daughter Gained, born on September 20 1683, wife in 1703, the ancestor Gabriel-Robert Dufour. While Genevieve Gained, born on May 27 1686, wife in 1706, Louis Gonthier. And, their brother, Jacques Gained, born on October 8 1688, wife in 1716, Helene Perron. After the death of Dodier Barb, in February 1689, Ignace Gained wife on November 6 1689, Louise Tremblay, girl of the ancestor Pierre Tremblay and Ozanne Achon. Three other children Gained, have links which concern us. The first, Ignace Gained, born on October 27 1680, wife in 1718, Dufour Angelica. The second, Francoise Gained, born on January 22 1696, wife in 1714, Claude Gauthier. Then, the third, Fran�ois-Xavier Gained, born on February 24 1698, wife in 1719, Marie-Genevieve Filion. The ancestor Louis Gagn� dies between February 2 1660 and the inventory makes on July 14 1661. One does not know the date of his death, because Iroquois one to capture at the same time as Louis Guimont. Its widow, Marie Michel, wife in second weddings, September 1666, the ancestor, Paul DeRainville, usher and widower of Roline Poet.
