Title: Information on the family of Maude Rogers came from oral history of Sidney Roghers Hanson and my own research in Marathon Co. records.
Title: Marriage record of Maude Bracht and John Schueller Marathon Co. Courthouse
Note: Maude was adopted by a Bracht famiy after Sidney's death. Her marriage record listed her parents as Raw Bracht and Barbara Dewitt. A Richard Bracht family lived in Town of Hull, Marathon County, WI. A Schueler family lived nearby. The Bracht's were childless and adopted Maude. Maude's adopted mother died in 1898. Clark Co. History website has the obituaries of her adopted mother and father. Maude and John Schueller were married by a justice of the peace.
In the early 1900's Maude and her family moved to California. They divorced and Maude was separated from her children. On one visit to Wisconsin she was asked about the children. Her reply was that they were all dead. 1910 census records show John and the children living with his parents in California. Social Security death records show that at least three of her children lived into the 1960's, 70's and 80's.
Maude and John left behind some of their furniture when they moved to California. A highchair and child's rocking chair was left to William and Emilia Roghers. I have inherited them.
