Notes
a. Note:   Priscilla Mullins was born about 1605, in Dorking, County Surry, England. She was about age 15 when she sailed on the Mayflower in 1620 with her parents and brother to the New World. The were among the passengers who are known today as the Pilgrims. The family came, not as part of the religious community, but as the "Merchant Adventurers" who helped fund the trip. The first winter was very hard, and her father, mother and brother died "of the common illness" by Spring, 1621. At age 16, she was one of half a dozen surviving adult and nearly adult women on the expedition to prepare the fall feast attended by the 51 survivors and 90 native Americans, later to be called the First Thanksgiving. She married shortly thereafter to John Alden, who has served as the Mayflower's cooper and carpenter, but stayed in the New World when the ship returned to England in April, 1621. She and John remained in the Plymouth Colony and raisd a large family.
