Note: Owned the land his father Asa Maness purchased from Robert W. Goldston. Site is now occupied by Riverside Golf Course. The Tom Maness residence was referred to as the "Old Goldston Place." Tom was administrator of his father Asa Maness' estate. Asa Maness died in 1894 and his estate was not settled until 1909 4 years after Tom's death. Tom was angry because he believed other family members had found his father Asa's gold and had seen no need to share it with the rest of their siblings. Tom took to prospecting for gold in his later years but no indication that he ever found any substantial amount.
Note: They married circa 1882.
