Notes
a. Note:   itter Powers lived on land inherited from Enoch Powers of Northern Moore County adjacent to the Chatham-Randolph County lines. His career objective was to be a teacher. He attended the Purvis School-Elise Academy and Bonlee High School but never had the opportunity to attend college. In 1917 he built a two story twelve room house adjacent to where he was raised with virgin forest pine on the farm. He married Lula Gilliland on 2-18-1918 and moved to the new house along with his Mother and Father. The house still stands in good condition. Two sons were born to this union Paul and Edison. Sarah and Herbert were fortunate to be able to celebrate their 50 th wedding anniversary and three more years. They were always happy and loving and that was the most important thing.
Note:   Bennie Huey Powers youngest of the twelve children of Jack and Cynthia R
