a. Note:   h his parents and helped them work the land. In the late 30's and early 40's he worked in the mill at Troy NC. He married Bessie Myrtle Tucker of the Uwharrie Community in 1909. they had both received their formal education at Buck Mountain School and were hardworking-resourceful and talented people. Will loved music and attended "singing schools" to develop his clear-strong bass voice. After he was an adult he learned to play the cornet and was a member of the brass bands that played at the local school commencement exercises. Bess had learned as a child to play the piano and organ. They managed to see that all their children received some musical training. Most of the girls served as pianist at the local church. Will and Bess enjoyed their 18 Grandchildren. Their sixteen Great-Grandchildren and two great-Great-Grandchildren will hear the many loving stories told by their parents and Grandparents about the happy hours-days and weeks spent on the farm with Grandma and Grandpa Mullinix. 1920 census list Wm. N. Mullinix age 32 born NC-Father-Mother born NC and he Manages a Farm. Bess age 32 born NC Father-Mother NC-Lenoria age 8 NC-Bertha age 7 NC-Evelyn age 5-Connie age 1 yr 6 mos. NC-Mary Jane age 77 Mother.
