a. Note:   ather and eloped in 1921. Lydia had put her apron on a shelf in the barn and left the cow unmilked she was 13 and David was 30. They moved to the Pee Dee Mill Village a few years later. There were 6 sons. David Hudson a devout Christian was instrumental in buying the Bethel Church from the Methodist Conference in 1927 which became Bethel Baptist Church. He served as church clerk-deacon and leader in the church until his death. He also gave land for the Sandy Ridge Baptist located north of Rockingham. William David Hudson bought the Beverly property in 1941. He gave every child a portion of the land and some of the children and grandchildren continue to live in the community which is sometime referred to as Hudsonville.
