Note: ggin's Mine. The mules ran away with him and "Billy" was thrown in between the wheels and was laid up for some time. Another time he was walking with his cane on the porch, the porch was about three feet off the ground and had no railing. billy decided to shoo the chickens off the porch with his cane. He lost his balance and fell breaking his hip. the most devastating thing to happen to Billy was the amputation of one of his legs due to blood poisoning. The Doctor asked for some able-bodied men in the community to come and hold him on the table while his leg was taken off. A common saw was used and his cries could be heard all over the community. He recovered and lived for many years. 1870 census Wm. is age 37 and a Farmer. Julia age 29-Claudia age 9-Prisilla age 5 and Jenny age 4-Ann age 2 and a Temperance Harris age 85 female born in 1785. Living beside Wm. in HH 13-13 Matthew Morgan and HH 15 is Miles Bell and HH 16-16 is Margaret Hearn.

Note: ompson lived. Their home was a two story log house. Nearby was another log building which housed a large loom. It was used by all in the community who needed to weave cloth.
