Faris, 84 year-old resident of Tunnelton, dies at 12 midnight Saturday at her home. She had been in failing health several years. A native of Washington Cnty., Mrs. Faris was born Feb. 21, 1881 to Asa R. and Phoebe Ann Roberts Jean. She was united in marriage to Thomas J. Faris on Jan. 3, 1904 and he died Oct. 26, 1963. Surviving are one son, Ernest "Tommy: Faris of R.5, Bedford; eight daughters, Mrs. Ivan (Ellen) Hobson, R. 6, Bedford; Mrs. Bertha (Rachael) Starr, Indianapolis; Mrs. Charles (Anna Mary) Gabbert of Bedford; Mrs. Milo (Izillah) Bush, R. 5, Bedford, Mrs. Garland (Nona) Haley of Louisville, KY; Mrs. David (Kathryn) Wade of R. 5, Bedford; Mrs. Harold (Virginia) Bennett, R.5, Bedford; and Mrs. Frank (Barbara) Sallee, R. 5, Bedford; 17 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Faris was the last of a family of seven children. She was a member of the Methodist Church of Tunnelton and the Leesville Chapter No. 422 O.E.S. Funeral services will be held at 1:30pm Tuesday at the Tunnelton Methodist Church with Rev. Richard Bell officiating. Burial will be in the Tunnelton Cemetery. Friends may call at the Day & Carter Mortuary at any time. The body will lie in state at the church from 12:30 to 1:30 pm Tuesday." Several of the above names are spelled wrong.
