a. Note:   [Trueblood.FTW] [Julie Clifton Laughner's Truebloods (2002).FTW] Nola R. Faris Nov. 23, 1906-Oct. 22, 1996 Nola R. Faris, 89, R.15, Bedford, died at 8:30pm Tuesday at Dunn Memorial Hospital in Bedford. Born in Lawrence Cnty, she was the daughter of Joseph P. and Mary (Rout) Root. She married Ernest L. "Tommy" Faris on Feb. 18, 1925, and he died Sept. 6, 1984. She was a homemaker, a member of the First Baptist Church of Bedford and Lawrence Cnty Extension Homemakers, of which she was past president. She was also past president of American Baptist Women's Missions. She was a volunteer at Bedford Regional Medical Center. Survivors include two daughters: Vicky Clifton and Carol Phipps, both of Bedford; three sons: Don Faris of Bedford, Oran Faris of Frankfort, KY, and Dean Faris of Greenwood; one brother, Floy Root of Bedford; 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers: Robert F., Orville P., and Oran Root; one sister, Ruth Mathews; and three grandchildren. Services will be 10:30am Friday at the First Baptist Church, Bedford, with the Rev. Jon Lineback officiating. Burial will follow at Cresthaven Memory Gardens Mausoleum. Friends may call from 2-9pm Thursday at Day & Carter Mortuary, Bedford, and 9 am until service time Friday at the church.
