"Tommy" FARIS, 77 R. 15 Bedford, died at 7:33 a.m. Thursday at Bedford Medical Center. He had been ill for a few months. He was born Sept. 17, 1906 in Lawrence Cnty, to Thomas J. and Myrtle (JEAN) FARIS. He married Nola ROOT, Feb. 18, 1925, and she survives. He was a retired pipe fitter and plumber at Triangle-Leahy and a member of the First Baptist Church of Bedford. Surviving with his wife are three sons; Don R. 16, Bedford; Oran, Frankfort, KY; and Dean, of Smith Valley, Ind.; two daughters, Mrs. Harold (Carol) PHIPPS, R. 17, and Mrs. John (Vicky) CLIFTON, Bedford; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and seven sisters; Mrs. Bert (Rachel) STARR, Brownsburg, Ind.; Mrs. Charles (Anna Mary) GABBERT, Bedford; Mrs. Milo (Izillah) BUSH, Buddha; Mrs. Garland (Nona) HALEY, Buddha; Mrs. David (Kathryn) Wade, Buddha; Mrs. Harold (Virginia) BENNETT, Buddha; and Mrs. Frank (Barbara) SALLEE of Montana. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Ivan (Ellen) HOBSON. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Day & Carter Mortuary, Dr. Milan H. JOHNSON officiating.
