Note: !MARRIAGE. Cornelius H. Duvall was first married to Mary J. McIntosh on 28 October 1875 at the home of her father in Polk Co., MO. The marriage was performed by R.W. McMasters. It is recorded in Book "C", page 46. Mary filed for a divorce from Cornelius in Jan. 1986 and was living in Polk Co. at the time. According to Alta Helen (Sharp) Jackle and Laura Hazel Sharp, granddaughters of Mary Jane, Cornelius abandoned his wife and three daughters. He removed to IL where he married again and raised a second family. !MARRIAGE. Cornelius moved to Fayette Co., ILL and changed his name to Charles H. Duvall. He and Mary Ellen (Cothern/Cotheran) Donaldson were issued a marriage license (#1619) on 16 Feb. 1897. They were married at the bride's residence on 17 Feb. 1897. Witnesses were Calvin Cothern & Serend Beck. Mary Ellen Cothern/Cotheran's parents were Calvin and Mary (Donaldson) Cothern/Cotheran. Two children were born to this marriage. Reva Resta Duvall was born 22 May 1906 in Otego Twp., Fayette Co., IL. George Clayton Duvall was born 3 Apr. 1903 in Fayette Co., IL. !PARENTAGE. Cornelius Howard Duvall was the son of William M. Duvall and his wife Mary Elizabeth Albright. William M. was born 2 May 1832 in Owenton, Owen Co., KY. and died 31 May 1919 in Golden City, Barton Co., MO. He is buried in Golden City. He married on 21 Mar. 1851 at Pleasant View, Shelby Co., IN. Mary Elizabeth Albright was born 7 Oct. 1832 in Gallatin Co., KY, and died 25 Dec. 1923 in Oconee, Shelby Co, IL. Mary Elizabeth's parents were Jacob Albright and Rachel Brown. They both died in Shelby Co., IN in1862 and 1861. William M. Duvall's parents were Richard M.J. Duvall and Agatha M. Bacon. Richard M.J. Duvall ancestry can be found in "Mareen Duvall of Middle Plantation," by Harry Wright Newman, 1952. He is listed on page 125 !DEATH. Charles H. Duvall "alias Cornelius/Neil" died 5 July 1906 at the age of 50 yrs., 11 mos., and 2 days, in Otego Twp., Fayette Co., IL. He was buried in the Price Cem. in Shelby Co., IL. on 6 Jul 1906. Fayette Co., IL, record of deaths, Book 2, page 217. There is apparently no stone. He died of tuberculosis, complicated by dropsy. !CENSUS. Cornelius H. and Mary J.
