 From message board - aquila Burroughs, (1806-9 June 1889), son of Norman Burroughs and Esther Turner/Cartwright? had whom was Catholic. His wives included 1. Susan Elizabeth Lyon, 2. Caroline Marian Knight, 3. Mary, 4. W. Catherine Cheseldine. (Presume talking about a son of Aquila).

 My g-g-g-grandfather Norman Burroughs (1760-c 1828, St. Mary's Co.), married Esther Carthwright (1762-abt 1828, St. Marys Co. Md)
 The name Amery appears in this post. Norman and Esther's son was John Amory Burroughs (1802-1872). The family bible spells it Amory. John Amory married Elizabeth Temperance Dent (1810-1881), daughter of George Dent and Elizabeth Mills. They lived at Wicomico Fields, in Charles or St. Mary's Co.
 Their son, William McKenny Burroughs married Sarah Hayden, daughter of Hezekiah Garner Hayden (c 1813-1858) and Elizabeth Catherine Carpenter (1823-1893).

  Sarah Jane Burroughs was the daughter of Aquilla and Susan Elizabeth Lyon Burroughs.
  I do not know the parents of Catherine Burroughs.
