Note: Catonsville, High School graduate. Started at U of M, College Park, Maryland but didn't graduate - due to the depression helped out family.
Worked at Excello Public Service, North Ave. Baltimroe, MD. He serviced appliances.
Army Air Corps Service
Went in with Ray Kemp & other friend. On Manning Board at Bendix and he got off it when Flo went in. Put in for flight school. Sent to Fla. Kemp got his wings. RJ's peripheral vision a problem not able to land planes. Other guy flunked out. Gunnery School in Harlingen, TX. Flew full 35 missions with the 446th BG, 8th AF. Out of Flixton England. Bungay. Later when returned - flew into Loring Field, Maine. Also in Sioux City, IA waiting for discharge. Worked bailing hay to help the farmers.
Bendix Radio Corp. - 37 years. Started as hourly worker. President liked him and used him as a driver. He went into management. Wolfe Brohme was the manager he worked for. Hugh & Walter Johnson also working there at that time. Ray got them jobs. Hugh, the oldest brother, worked for Stieff Silver.
Attended Hopkins at night - 6 credits short of a degree but had to move to Upstate NY. Rome, N.Y. as Asst. Manager had no time to finish his credits. Geo Burawa was his boss in Rome, NY.
Retired - went back to work at Franklin Square Hospital. Was maintenance Supervisor there. Died in May of 1996 of complications related to Parkinson's disease.
