Note:   Posted By: Larry Yow -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Date Posted: Sep 15, 2003 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nancy Elizabeth (Shamblee) Donathan Born 1871 Died 09-17-1954 Funeral services for Mrs. Ben Donathan, age 83, were held on Saturday afternoon, September 18, 1954, at 3:00 at the Roberts Memorial Chapel, Booneville. Rev. W. J. Spicer and Rev. J. W. Johnston, officiated. Burial was at Oak Hill Memorial Park, with Roberts Funeral Home in charge. Mrs. Donathan had been ill a short time. She was a member of the Methodist Church. She died at the family home on East Cooke about 11:00 Friday morning. She was a member of a pioneer South Logan County Family, a daughter of the late William Shamblee. She is survived by two sons, Fee and Jeff of Booneville; one brother, Tom Shamblee, Booneville; and one sister, Mrs. G. W. Parks, Booneville. [She was known in my family as Aunt Monk. Although she was in her 70s when we moved to Booneville in 1944, I remember her as a very warm, cheerful woman that my mother was especially fond of.
