Gertruyd became the mother of Maria (Maritje) Catherine Silbernagel in Germany, after 1700/1. Gertruyd immigrated, circa 1720. Destination: destination unknown. Gertruyd became the mother of Elizabeth Silbernagel circa 1722. Gertruyd became the mother of Barbara Silbernagel circa 1726. The following is additional information about Gertruyd: Keith Marvin in his book, "Our Silvernail Ancestry", states that Johannes Pieter Silbernagel came to the providence of New York about 1720, accompanied by his wife, Elizabeth, his widowed mother Gertruyd, his younger brother, Johannes Adam, and their sisters. Peter's mother, Gertruyd, was sponsor at the baptism of her grand-daughter, Gertruyd, daughter of Adam and Elizabeth, who was born February 5, 1729. This information is in the records of the New York Lutheran Church. An old record says Johannes Peter Silberngel, who came from a village near Bingen on the Rhine, Germany in 1721 or before, bringing his wife Elizabetha, several children, born in Germany , his younger brother Johannes Adam, two or three unmarried sisters and his widowed mother Gertruy. His father was Nicholas according to Adam's marriage record at Claverack, N.Y. in 1728. His mother Gertruy was alive in this country as late as 1739.
