Note: Dye, Georgia LEBANON, Va. � Georgia Mae Dye, 80, passed away on Monday, Dec. 24, 2007, at Russell County Medical Center. Born in Russell County, Va., on Jan. 7, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Bernard Monk and Georgia Cochran Monk. In addition to her parents, her husband, Walter Dye, sisters, Marie Peck and Mary Jane Lester, and half brother, Johnny Monk, also precede her in death. Survivors include her children, Bernard Dye and wife Buretta P. of Castlewood, Va., Ethel Cox and husband Gailen of Belfast, Va., and Harry Dye and Shirley Dye, both of Lebanon; grandchildren, Garland Cox and Bobby Dye; five great-grandchildren, Cody, Hunter, Cristen and Laura Cox and Christopher Dye; stepmother, Laura Mae Monk; brother, Bernard Monk of Seaport, Va.; sister, Betty Watson of Columbus, Ohio; and half brothers and half sisters, Margaret Artrip, Nadine Wolf, Luellen Hughes, George Monk, Charlie Monk, Billy Monk, James Monk and Josephine Fields. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 27, at Owens Funeral Service Chapel, with the Rev. Tom Edwards officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home before the funeral service. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 28, at Russell Memorial Cemetery in Lebanon. Those wishing to attend are requested to meet at the cemetery.
