Note:   Research notes: Re Henry’s children: - Anne and Elias are Christened at the same church, having a Henry as father, and born within 2 years of each other. - I don’t have a birth record for Nowell, his birth is c 1645, as he was 25 at his marriage date. So he fits perfectly into the time-frame of Henry’s children. He is linked to Elias, as a co-defendant. He is an important link for my research, as his first name reflects the Nowell family, that married into the Proctor family a few generations earlier. As there are a few Proctor/Procter families in Warsill and environs, it gives me, hopefully, the correct Proctors to link these ones to. The name Elias is also a link to an earlier Proctor family, who moved from Friarhead to Warsill… the brother of Sir Stephen Proctor, who built Fountains Hall, was also Elias. Sir Stephen only had 3 surviving daughters, but Elias did have children, but I can’t find further information on them. I could not find reference for parents for this Henry, so I have linked him as a son of Elias, who did have offspring, though I couldnt find much reference of their names. This link does fit into the correct time frame and if it isn’t Elias, it would probably be a brother of Elias. A few of my Proctor names are represented loosely in my records and are not linked to family, as I didn’t have any solid reference. Some could be a repeat of the same person. -------- The local historian's table book: Vol8 p248-9 His brothers Ralph and Robert died young and he was succeeded by his third brother Henry Hilton, aged 38 in 1666. In 1685 at the general muster of captain Nicholas Conyers’ troop at the “Bellas heads” near Durham, on the 24th June Baron Hilton was charged with two horses and in the return of deficiencies it is stated that his men wanted “buff coates,” and in 1688 he had to furnish two horsemen for sir William Bowes troop. He married Anne daughter of Henry Procter of Warsell, and died in 1712, leaving two sons, Thomas and John, and three daughters. --------- The Patrician, Vol III, 1847 Page 569 The second son, Henry, Baron of Hilton, wedded Anne, dau. of Henry Procter, Esq. of Warsell, co. York, and d. in 1712, leaving issue… --------- England Births and Christenings Name Anne Procter Gender Female Christening Date 04 Jan 1637 Christening Place PATELEY BRIDGE,YORK,ENGLAND Father's Name Henry Procter Indexing Project (Batch) Number P00970-2 System Origin England-ODM GS Film number 98551 --------- Possible Marriage; England Marriages, 1538–1973 Name Henrie Procter Spouse's Name Margarett Parkinson Event Date 26 Apr 1635 Event Place Burnsall,York,England Indexing Project (Batch) Number M00903-1 System Origin England-ODM GS Film number 0990087 IT 2, 0990087 IT 3, 0990087 IT 4, 564356 ---------
