Note: from Genealogical Home Page of Russ McGillivray - www.worldconnect.rootsweb.com Anne's surname is spelled McDuffie in the Scottish records and McPhie or McPhee in Ontario. She was living on the farm (Lot 3, Con 8, Oro Tp) when she died of 'old age' at the age of 89. Her obituary in the Barrie Examiners says she "was greatly esteemed and held in the highest regard for her kid, gentle and loving disposition...In religion the deceased was a Baptist and one of the early pioneers of that denomination in Oro. Her Bible was her daily study and her whole life was modelled upon and consistent with the teach of the Master. Her mind was clear to the last and just before "falling asleep in Jesus" she remarked that to be absent from the body was to be present with the Lord." Her funeral was conducted by Rev. Jas. Currie of Mitchell Square, and six of her grandsons were pall bearers.
