Morris, b. 1820 by Wayne Morrison Wayne Morrison: I do not have enough information to determine if JamesMorris was related to Boling G. Morris or Bethana Morris, myGr-Grandmother from Jones County. Bethana married Jeremiah Griffin Smith in Jones County - his secondwife. His first wife was Temperance Morrison. They had one son, Moses,b. 1838 in Jones Co., killed at battle of 2nd Manassas, "War of YankeeAgression". Temperance may have died in childbirth, was dead by 1841when JGS married Bethana. Bethana is thought to have been from Monroe County but that is notcertain. I have good reason to believe that Boling G. (Griffin?)Morris was married to a Smith from Jasper Co. or Monroe County, adaughter of Jeremiah Smith, uncle of Jeremiah Griffin Smith, thebrother of Bolling or Bolin Smith in Jasper Co. As you can tell, I am pulling together various documents and courtrecords to construct a family tree. That Bethana Morris Smith andBoling G. Morris were next door neighbors (by Census of 1850) andBoling is a family name used by all male members of this family. It isfrom the mother of Bolling, Moses, Jeremiah and Rolling Smith and istraced to Col. Robert Bolling who married Jane Rolfe, thegranddaughter of Pocahontas in early Virginia. Their father was Dr.Griffin Smith who died in 1819 in Baldwin County, Ga. If you would like to have additional information, please Email me [email protected] Posted by: Raymond W. Was under the impression that this was Boling Morris. Anyconnection? Could this have been a second marriage for him? Henrietta was the daughter of David Lester, Sr. (born April 8, 1796 atDutch Fork, Newberry District, South Carolina; died May 6, 1874 atOakland, Lester District, Jones County, Georgia) and Elizabeth Mullins(born December 12, 1804 in Hancock County, Georgia; died December 24,1862 in Macon, Georgia.)
