He was writing to his wife Rena and others. Camped at Fredericksburg, Va, January 5, 1863 "George Folds is poking the fire hurrying up the cooks and I am in myfeeble way writing to my Dolly." Camped near Orange Court House, May 31, 1863 "on the 25th of the present month I ran against Sergt G.W. Folds forthe 2nd Lieutenancy gr and at last I was elected by a majority of 12votes." and Camp near Rogersville, Tennessee, on the road to Bristol, Virginia,December 11, 1863 "A.W. Folds was killed, Charley Vaughn was killed and George W. Foldswas shot in the back of his right eye and the Ball peeped out behindhis left ear. I fear he will not recover.
