a. Note:   , Page ? Opal Rose Todd, a resident of Porterville, died there Tuesday, Jan.31, 2006. She was 89. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday atMyers Chapel in Porterville. A service will be at 10 a.m. Monday atFirst United Methodist Church in Porterville, with the Rev. Joe Hurdand the Order of the Eastern Star Palm Leaf Chapter OES officiating.Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Porterville. Mrs. Todd was a native of Newark, Missouri, USA., previously of Ducor.She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Porterville.She was a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star Palm LeafChapter OES and a past matron of the Eastern Star. She was a member ofthe Sharon Temple, Daughters of Niles, Tulare/Kings County Niles Club,the Sierra View District Hospital League of Volunteers, and servedwith the Pink Ladies of Sierra View District Hospital for 25 years.She was a volunteer, leader and community leader for the 4-H Club forover 50 years and represented the state of California as anoutstanding leader in Chicago. She was also a member of the GardenClub and a 50-year member of the Ducor and Porterville Women's Clubs. She is survived by one daughter, Debra Sumpter of Madera; two sons,Gordon Todd of Reedley and Gary Todd of Porterville; eightgrandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in deathby her husband, Gordon Todd; and one son, Calvin Todd. Donations may be sent to Sierra View District Hospital League ofVolunteers (Pink Ladies), 465 W. Putnam Ave., Porterville, CA 93257;Order of the Eastern Star, 2440 W. Henderson Ave., Porterville, CA93257; or donor's favorite charity. Condolences may be sent to thefamily at www.myersfuneral.com.
