a. Note:   o start up a cigar business, Mary and herbrother Fred and her mother were left in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan,Canada. Mary's mother was befriended there by a Mrs. Hogg, whosponsored Mary Alice to a girl's school in Vonda, Saskatchewan andFred to a orphanage in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. She attendedschools in Canada. Mary got married at a very young age to a migrantfarm worker ... Grover Bradley. They had 5 children together ...John, Iva, Bert, Ina, and George. Times were very difficult, afterher husband left her Mary was forced to leave her children. They wereleft at a church, where it is believed they may hay been adopted out,or they were left with her mother-in-law. Mary moved to Bozeman about1922. She married Paul Todd December 23, 1927 in Bozeman. They movedto Missouri, returning to Bozeman in 1932. They moved to Willow Creekin 1936. Mary died Tuesday August 16,1981 in a Bozeman Nursing Home. ____________________________________________ OBIT014 - Mary Alice "Mamie" (Kemmerer) Todd, Bozeman Daily Chronicle,Bozeman, MT, August 18, 1981, Page 2 Mary A. Todd, 80, of Willow Creek died at a Bozeman nursing home onAug. 16. She was born July 20, 1901, at Duluth, Minn., to Frederickand Mary Kemmerer. She attended schools in Canada and then moved toBozeman in 1920. She married Paul B. Todd on Dec. 23, 1927, inBozeman. They lived in Missouri, returning to Montana in 1932. Thecouple moved to Willow Creek in 1936. Her husband died in 1971, andMrs. Todd was also preceded in death by one daughter and two sons.Survivors include four sons, Burton and Thomas of Three Forks; abrother, Fred Kemmerer of Oakland, Calif., 20 grandchildren and sixgrate-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at K&LMortuary in Three Forks. Burial will be at Mount Green Cemetery inWillow Creek. ____________________________________________
