a. Note:   FREY, Lena (Snider) - Of Chateau Gardens, Elmira, passed away, peacefully, with her family by her side, at St. Mary's General Hospital, on Friday, July 18, 2003, at the age of 92 years. Loving mother of Murray and Loretta Snider of Waterloo, Stewart and Gail Snider of Waterloo, Clare and Brenda Snider of Elmira, Sharon and Maynard Snyder of Kitchener. Dear grandmother of Ryan Snider and his fiancee Tricia Gardy, both of Waterloo, Kara Snider of Waterloo, Sonya and Steve Magus of Calgary, Luke and Vaughn Snider of Winnipeg, Julie and Anton Heimpel of Elmira, Maureen Snider of Waterloo, Daniel, Michael and Matthew Snyder of Kitchener. Proud great-grandmother of Hannah and Jenna Magus, Anya, Caleb and Quinn Snider, Sean and Erik Heimpel. Lena is also survived by four brothers and four sisters, David and Elva Horst of St. Jacobs, Mary Shantz of Cambridge, Barbara Horst of St. Jacobs, Elam and Myrtle Horst of Waterloo, Amon and Hilda Horst of New Hamburg, Martha and Roy Koch of Goshen, Indiana, Emma Brubacher of St. Jacobs, Melvin and Leeta Horst of St. Jacobs and brother-in-law, Roy Waters of Guelph. Predeceased by her first husband, Mahlon C. Snider (1963); her second husband, David Frey (1982); one sister, Verna Waters and her parents, Menno and Lovina (Bauman) Horst. She is also remembered by the Frey family, Leonard and Erla Frey, Margaret Frey, Lila Frey, Marie and Art Martin, Carol and Lorne Brubacher. The family will receive friends and relatives at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira, on Tuesday, July 22 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. At 9 a.m. on Wednesday transfer will be made to the Elmira Mennonite Church for a service of celebration at 11 a.m. with Pastors Ruth Ann Laverty and Steven Janzen officiating, followed by interment in the Elmira Mennonite Cemetery. In her memory, donations to the Mennonite Central Committee would be appreciated by the family as expressions of sympathy.
