Another birthdate of May 10, 1796 is also possible (see Ammertzwiller Parish Record, LDS Film #0706231, years 1793 and 1796). Also known as Ignatz. Death information from the Ontario death registration #1883-017026 which gave the name as Ignatz Ditner (not Ignatius) and the age as 90 years 5 months 29 days. He is the original DITNER ancestor to come to Canada. He came over on the ship Adeline, through the port of Philadelphia on the 25th of June, 1833 with his wife and 4 children. He is listed as 37 years old, Frances listed as 34 years old. His given name is spelled Jacques instead of Ignatius. The surname is occasionally spelled DIETNER in Ontario records. He spoke both German and French. He purchased 200 acres of land in Wilmot Township and cleared the land for his farm. The stones from clearing were used to build the house and the foundatiion of the barn. The original house still remains in 2004.
