Note: YANTZI, Mahlon - Passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2007, at K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, Kitchener. Mahlon resided at Columbia Forest Long Term Care Facility, Waterloo and was formerly of RR2, Petersburg and Morningside Village, New Hamburg. He was born 85 years ago in North Easthope Township and was the son of the late Christian R. and Nancy (Bender) Yantzi. Beloved husband of the late Ruth (Litwiller) Yantzi who predeceased him August 5, 2003. Dear father, grandfather and great-grandfather of Judy and Bob Kirby of Stouffville and their daughters Kim and Rob Toffan and their daughter Allison, Megan and David Robinson; Brenda and Geoff Meston of Waterloo and their son Grady and (Jill); Susan and Bill Stinson of New Hamburg and their sons Nicholas and (Danu), Jordan, Trevor; Wendy and Jim Boshart of New Hamburg and their daughters Allison and (Luke), Emily, Meredith, Hayley; Pam and Rheal Lariviere of Baden and their children Steven, Rachel and (Jay), Ben; Michael and Erin Yantzi of Clinton and their children Madelyn, Jacob. Sadly missed by his sisters Dorothy Lebold of New Hamburg, Mary Baechler of Exeter, Ruby and Carlyle Holst of Kitchener, Emma and Mahlon Steinmann of Tavistock, Verna Brayshaw of Kitchener, brother Lester and Nancy Yantzi of New Hamburg, sister-in-law Helen Litwiller of Waterloo and brother-in-law Harold Litwiller of Goderich. Mahlon was predeceased by sisters Edna and Solomon Gerber, Melinda and Milton Roth, Wilma and Lloyd Stere, Anna and Lorne Baechler, brother Christian, sisters-in-law Helen Yantzi, Pearl Litwiller and brothers-in-law Alvin Lebold, Bill Baechler, Jack Brayshaw and Oliver Litwiller. Mahlon was a member of Steinmann Mennonite Church, Baden. Family and friends may call at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron St., New Hamburg on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service to celebrate Mahlon's life will take place on Saturday February 17, 2007 at 2 p.m. at Steinmann Mennonite Church, Baden. Pastor Steve Drudge and Pastor Myrna Miller Dyck officiating. Interment to follow in the church cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to St. Mary's Hospital (Cardiac Care Unit), Grand River Hospital Diabetes Education Centre or the Steinmann Mennonite Church Building Fund.
