Note:   HARKNESS, Emma - Emma Catherine Harkness, 98, of Waterloo and formerly of London, passed away, at K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, with family by her side, on Sunday, Nov. 16, 2003. Born in Tavistock in 1905, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Susanna (Sommers) Baechler. Member of Calvary United Church, St. Jacobs. Loved mother of Andrea Harkness of Waterloo, Sheila Coulas and her husband Ray of St. Jacobs; dear sister of Gladys Breithaupt of Kitchener. Predeceased by her husband Andrew; brothers, Norman Baechler and his wife Sally, Joseph Baechler and his wife Isabell, Wesley Baechler and his wife Dorothy, Stanley Baechler and his wife Cela; sisters, Clara Cowan and her husband George, Iva Sare and her husband Becher. She was the loved Aunt Emma to nieces and nephews.A private family service with interment in the East Zorra Community Cemetery will be held on Tuesday. The Rev. Marion Jackson Tyler will officiate. Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family for a time of fellowship and reflection of Emma's life at the David MacLeod Funeral Home, 617 King St. N., Waterloo (north of Northfield Drive, also a rear entrance off Colby Drive) on Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2003 from 7-9 p.m. As expressions of sympathy, donations to a charity of one's own choice would be appreciated and may be made at the funeral home or by calling 888-7700.
