Note: In the Wellington Co. Atlas of 1906, Whitelaw biography section, Janet L. Whitelaw is clearly listed as the daughter of Thomas Whitelaw and Ellen Elliott. The atlas also states, in the McIntosh biography section, that Charles McIntosh, son of Robert McIntosh and Isabella Duncan, married Janet Whitelaw. I always assumed it was the same girl. However, on the marriage certificate it shows Charles' bride as Jennie G. Whitelaw, daughter of Thomas and Mary Whitelaw. Obviously the name Jennie can also be a pet-name for Janet, but why Mary as the mother? I am working on clarifying this entry.
