Loving mother of John Noonan and his wife Stephanie of Vancouver, B.C., Jim Noonan and his wife Barb of Palmerston, Gerard Noonan and his wife Nancy of Carlsruhe, Mary Lynn Raftis and her husband Fred of Arthur, Charlene Goetz and her husband John of Walkerton, Haroldena Feltstead and her husband Bob of Canmore, Alberta and Lee Anne Kroeplin and her husband Lloyd of Walkerton. Dear sister of Mary Pineau of Guelph.Devoted grandmother to Joe Noonan, Valerie Noonan, Andrea Gilmour and her husband Ross, John Raftis and his wife Laura, Mike Raftis and his wife Betty, Mary Ellen Caudle and her husband Allan, Richard Noonan, Johanne Noonan, Paul Goetz and his wife Ange, Kelly Morris and her husband Victor, Kim Jacque and her husband Shaun, Dwayne Orth and his wife Debbie, Patti Jo Hatt and her husband Jeff, Bonnie Lynn Orth, Angelia, Tracy, Jeffery and Gregory Kroeplin, Jason, Eric and Melissa Noonan.Special great-grandmother to Stephanie Gilmour, Kayla and Luke Raftis, Douglas, Katie, Danny and Donna Marie Caudle, Isaac, Kevin, Emily and Samantha Orth, Jack and Noah Hatt, Vanessa and Carlie Morris, Tyler and Ryan Goetz and Madison Jacque.Predeceased by her son, Cyril in 1973; son-in-law, Bruce Orth; brothers, Harold, Frank and Patrick Egan; brother-in-law, Roy Pineau and by her parents, Leo and Lucy (Cantlon) Egan.Leona was born on December 30, 1917 on the 4th of Arthur township. She married Harold Noonan of Minto in 1941 and they farmed in Minto township until 1973 when they retired to Harriston. Leona was a longtime member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Little Ireland Institute and Harriston-Minto Agricultural Society. Leona was the news correspondent for Little Ireland News for the Clifford News, Harriston Review and the Mount Forest Confederate for a number of years.Friends may call at the Hardy-Lee Funeral Home, Harriston, on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with a vigil prayer service at 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Thomas Roman Catholic Church, Harriston at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 24, 2003 with Rev. Father Mark Sullivan. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, Mount Forest.Memorial donations to the Palmerston and District Hospital or to a charity of one's choice would be appreciated.
