Note: Born in Lang, Saskatchewan, Canada, was the fourteenth child. In 1923, Tillie and Robert moved to Fresno, California. In 1952 the family moved to Santa Rosa, California. They bought a 20-acre ranch on Scentic Avenue off Stony Point Road, where they lived until they moved into town in the 1970s. In 1986 they moved to Rohnert Park. Tillie was a member of St. Luke Evangelical Lutheran Churchwere she taught Sunday School, served on the Altar Guild and in the Ladies AidSociety. She loved to cook and prepared many meals in the old Parish hall kitchen. Over the years she enjoyed gardening and canning fruit. She had a habit ofalways stopping and talking to little children. Her heart was full of compassion for those in need and urged other people to give of themselves. Tillie wasalso a very special mother to ten foster children over the years, in additionto their own three children. Death: Memorial Service, Saturday, March 2, 2002, 11:00 a.m. at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 905 Mendocino Ave., Santa Rosa. TheOfficant - Pastor Ted C. Mueller. Tillie suffered from osteoporosis and recently sustained injuries in a fall. When 18 she became cook for farmer Robert Schrader, and 18 men on the farm.
