Notes
a. Note:   Mary Helen Churchill, information provided by Betty Jo Ehn. Mary Helen Churchill was the fourth child of William Stewart and Malvine Maxon Churchill. She was born in Cuba, Fulton Co., Illinois and married William Bramwell Hoar on December 24, 1865. She was one of 14 children. The Churchill family was living in Joshua Township, Cuba Village, Fulton County, Illinois at the time of her birth. Little is recorded of her early life. In the section about her father I have mentioned some of the changes that were taking place in that time period and what an interesting life Mary Helen and her brothers and sisters must have had. She probably went to a country school for a few years and was active in her church. She married William Bramwell Hoar on December 24, 1865. She was not of age at the time of the marriage and her parents had to give written permission. Mary Helen Churchill Hoar is buried at Ash Rock Cemetery, Ash Rock Township, Rooks Co., Kansas.
