Note: Clinton Register DeWitt County, Illinois Friday, October 2, 1914 Page 8 DIED IN HOSPITAL. About four o�clock yesterday afternoon in the Warner hospital occurred the death of a young mother, Mrs. Claus Wood, after two weeks illness of pneumonia. The disease developed following the birth of a child two weeks ago. Convulsions first were manifest, leaving the patient in a condition too weak to combat the lung trouble. The body was removed to the Oakman undertaking rooms and after being prepared for burial was taken to the home of her parents, Elijah Welch and wife on East Washington street. She was aged eighteen years. She is survived by the babe, her husband and parents, also three brothers, Elmer, Fred and John, all residing in Clinton. Funeral services will be held from the home of the parents at 1118 East Washington street tomorrow afternoon. Burial in Woodlawn. Note: She was listed as Leona A. Welch in the 1900 census.
