Alice Jewell McAllister: Death: 1965
Note: Information on this family was given to me by: Sandra Hughes <sandrakmh@@hotmail.com> November 29, 2006 He was a farmer, carpenter, brick mason and electrician. There is a house still in Broxton that he built and the chimney is still serviceable. He was a member of Woodmen of the World. After Reedy Branch Baptist Church burned, It has undergone several upgrades (brick siding added as well as a new social hall and Sunday School rooms) but is still being used as the sanctuary. He was the census enumerator for Coffee County, Wooten District in 1920 and 1930. As with many other folks who took census, he misspelled some names. :( Also in the 1920 census, his eldest daughter, Francis (note the spelling) Jeanette McAllister, is listed as Fannie, which is what they called her at that time. She was later called Jeanette.
